Cathy McGrane is a DMI Senior Advisor with a focus on helping clients succeed. Having spent 35+ years in sales and growth strategy in the federal government IT domain, she has learned to believe in the value of straightforward client-contractor communication. Cathy is passionate about building “future-proof” solutions that allow clients to move ahead rather than be tethered to outdated thinking and processes. She believes in helping clients become better buyers.
Cathy was drawn to DMI because of the way we have re-imagined how strategy consulting must adapt to the accelerated pace of change in today’s world, as well as DMI’s commitment to national security on a complex, dynamic world stage. Cathy’s strengths are ideation, seeing the forest and not just the trees, and helping communicate complex messages in a straightforward, simple fashion to bring people together for achieving goals. She provides strategy consulting, storytelling, messaging, and differentiation ideas, and serves as a professional mentor and coach.
The majority of Cathy’s career was spent leading the HP Enterprise Services (formerly EDS) Federal Healthcare Sales team, but she has also consulted for Fortune 500 firms and pioneering technology companies. Cathy is known as a great team builder, and her teams consistently exceeded sales targets and led the industry in sales performance.
Cathy received her degree in Psychology from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA, is trained in Executive Sales and Storytelling disciplines, and currently lives near Charlottesville, VA.
